7th Grade Scientists

Seventh-grade scientists were busy exploring energy and matter through hands-on learning! Students rotated through a series of stations to observe how energy transforms from one form to another, including watching elastic energy transform into mechanical energy. These investigations are helping students build important background knowledge and vocabulary as they begin a unit focused on chemical reactions and the guiding question, “How can we make something new that was not there before?” Through experiments, observations, and modeling, students will deepen their understanding of matter, chemical reactions, and the conservation of mass.
