CMS celebrated Veterans Day with a memorable school-wide assembly, honoring those who have served. The Camerata choir opened with a beautiful rendition of the National Anthem, followed by an inspiring performance of America the Beautiful by an 8th-grade orchestra quintet.
Our special guests, Retired Commander Steven Kelcey (US Navy) and Retired Officer Dennis Broderick (US Army), shared the history and importance of Veterans Day, highlighted notable veterans, and recounted their own service experiences. Students even had the chance to watch an exciting video of a naval aircraft landing on a carrier!
The assembly wrapped up with a Q&A session, where students asked questions such as, "What was the food like in the military?" "What was a memorable experience?" and "Do you feel proud to be a veteran?"
Thank you, Commander Kelcey and Officer Broderick, for your service and for reminding us of the importance of honoring our veterans.
