CMS Honors Veterans Day

Today, our students and staff came together for a school-wide assembly to honor Veterans Day. The Camerata opened the program with a beautiful performance of the National Anthem, followed by a moving rendition of America the Beautiful performed by a group of 8th grade orchestra students.

We were honored to welcome Retired Lieutenant Roman Kogan (U.S. Navy), Retired Officer Dennis Broderick (U.S. Army), and Retired Lieutenant Francis Alexander (U.S. Navy), along with their families. Mr. Kogan shared stories from his time in the U.S. Naval Academy and his experiences serving aboard a submarine, offering students a glimpse into life in the service.

Following his presentation, our guests participated in a question-and-answer session with students. When asked if they were proud to be veterans and why, all three shared a similar sentiment. They expressed that they are deeply proud to have served a cause greater than themselves.

We are grateful to our veterans and their families for their service and for spending the morning with our CMS community.
