Westport Public Schools is proud to announce that Emily Diggs, a Grade 6 language arts teacher at Coleytown Middle School, has been selected as an Honored Teacher by the Connecticut Writing Project-Storrs in recognition of her impact on student writers.
What makes a hit song? Our students found out firsthand during a songwriting workshop with CT State Troubadour Charlie Widmer. Students worked together to bridge the gap between musical theory and modern storytelling, learning how to pivot between word-driven and melody-driven composition. By the end of the session, the group had begun crafting their own original song, proving that every student has a unique story to tell and a melody to share.
