Events

Counseling services focus on three main aspects of development:

  • Academic - Academic Guidance
  • College and Career - College and career awareness, exploration and planning services
  • Personal/Social - Social, emotional counseling services to students and their families

Components of the Counseling Program

* Classroom Counseling (4-6 times a year) also known as Developmental Guidance
* Individual and small group counseling
* Parent and staff consultation
* Coordination of school-wide programs
* Consultation with outside agencies

How does the child see the counselor?

* Student Support Team & I.E.P.
* Teacher Referral

* Self-referral

Students are wrapping up their first unit by creating or decorating an object that symbolizes a character in a book. Some chose to decorate water bottles with stickers, others decorated a locker, and a few even created playlists of songs that represent their character. The sixth graders' creativity and dedication were truly impressive!
